NOS '65 Dart candy canes on eBay - Ugh! But the price!

-
For that price I'd have to consider the repops from Laysons!

Ulf needs those......Just like 66 Dart headlight bezels only no-one repops those. I talked to Rick (layson) at the Nats and it would take thousands to make the dies to reopo those. Every 66 Dart owner on the planet would have to pay a couple hundred at least for a pair. The tooling necessary to make the candy canes is much less. tmm

I'll wait. New manufacturing processes like "additive manufacturing" will make low-volume parts like that much more affordable. May be another decade, but it is coming.

But wait!!!! You can make payments and if you buy now they'll throw in a new towel rack!

^ lol

But seriously, 700 bucks for what looks like chrome trim?

I went ahead and bought Laysons for my street Dart, which I believe are now $380 a pair plus the ride. Great quality, and I finally have something up there!
If a guy is real creative, you could possibly take a solid aluminum rod and get it bent to shape, then split down the middle ? Not cheap either, and not perfect, but a lot better than banged up originals. On my race car, the trim is nothing more than chrome covered door edge guard, glued directly to the fenders. It is tough to get it to stay in place, and took a couple of small screws after a couple of years.

Maybe if you slowed down on the track. You wouldn't be losing your trim. :)

& where can decent used ones be found? What does it cost to have them straightened ?1 year only item always beat to crap, I was expecting a higher price, much like 68 gets inserts used to be. But enough demand brought them down . 65 dart not so much. Lawrence
