I know its not a Mopar but I have loved these 67 GTO,s since before I was able to drive. This is not mine......yet. It belongs to a good friend of mine. He was on his way to a car show about 5 months ago when his carb started pouring gas out of it and by the time he got stopped and put out, that was all she wrote. Damn old Holley. I told him to stay away from them but he said he wanted to keep as much HP as possible. This one has 515 HP according to the dyno. The body shop he took it to 5 months ago jacked him around and hardly touched it so he called me and asked me if I would pick it up and fix it. gonna be different.

Sweet GTO!

I take it that those are pics from before the fire? #-o

no dozer, that's after the fire. it didn't get the paint on hood, just the engine bay. wiring harness, took out the dist. cap, all the wiring, hoses. did $3600 in damages. that's what the ins. co. paid him. He cashed the check and gave it to me and said fix it.

I will try and post a couple of pics of the engine bay when I get it in the garage the end of the weekend.

I also like them all, but am partial to the ones you don't see a lot of, like the early GTO's.

My brother got a welcome home from Vietnam to find that our mom sold his 67 GTO (gold with black vinyl roof and interior). He has so far resisted getting one to replace it. There was an exact copy on eBay last year, but he didn't bite. It was a beauty.

When I was 8 the guy across the street got a red white interior 66 GTO, fell in love with them right then. The 66 has to be my all time favorite GTO

Then when I was 13 the COOL GUY on the street got a 67 GTO, didn't know what it was for sure. It was on a trailer, custom paint, knew nothing about show cars., THE GOLDEN GOAT. 57 coats of paint, you could reach in and touch the spider webs, everything was custom painted or chrome plated, top to bottom. The car set the standard for ISCA shows for years. It won national champion in 1973 and then again in 1980

Around 2004 I got to drive the GOLDEN GOAT, Jerry took 5 cars to a local car show, his son in law had 2 of his and they needed a driver to get some home. I went but in DD so Sue drove it home and Barbara knew how much I loved the GOAT and said I could drive it home.

now this car was done in 1970, it was THE STANDARD for show cars for years

Good luck bringing it back to the beauty it was, DUMP THE HOLLEY, really he needs to get pure gas to keep from drying out the gaskets

Check out PUREGAS.ORG for gas stations that sells 100% gasoline, no ethanol

Mopar or No Ca....hey - that's a pretty good lookin' Goat ya got there :)

(I really dig the '66 and '67 GTOs)

I owned a 67 GTO back in 1971, bought it while i was a senior in high school.....i was working at a gas station making 1.50 an hour....car payment was 75 dollars a month....

Red with black vinyl top and black interior...400 with 4 sp...

The first ride I ever had in a muscle car was a 64 GTO 389, 3 duces and 4 speed.
SOB addicted me to old cars.
Helped him put a clutch in it so he could sell it for $1000 a few years later.
I tried like hell to come up with the money to buy it but, $1K was alot for a kid in high school in the early 80's.

As much as that sucks, he was lucky to only have it go that far.
