Street Gear Poll

My 1970 Duster 340 (new off the showroom floor) came with 3.23 open 8.75 diff.
It had E70-14's, prolly 25-26 inch diameter. It would burn or bog off the line, depending on how it was launched. It would do 138 MPH, according to the rallye pak gauge cluster.
Today, I have no interest in going 100+ in a 48 year old Dart GT w/383 TF 3.55 SG diff.
I voted 3.55 and it seems to be the most popular choice, according to the poll.

Yeah my 70 Swinger340 buried the speedo too. And with 3.55s. That would be 6400 rpm. And with 3 screaming teenage boy passengers in there too! Me? I was trying to get the floor-mat off the gas pedal.
That car was close to the most ill-handling performance car I ever owned. Too much motor for the factory chassis, and too much car for a 17 year old, and most especially, too much everything for those E70s. G60s weren't much better.
By 73 there were no original powertrain parts left in her. Second engine, second diff, third tranny, second D/S, probly third alt, second starter, third clutch, second set of springs and shocks, second shifter, and something like 14 tires.Sheesh, what a money-pit.
Oh wait, the carb and intake were original.
I survived.
