have a nice 3.55 suregrip supposedly rebuilt but checked the pinion / ring gear pattern and it is not correct.Are there shims in the 489 case or is this set with the crush sleeve?
shims are used under the pinion head bearing to set pinion depth which along with backlash sets the gear pattern ,, the crush sleeve sets pinion bearing preload.
