I'd like to replace the steering wheel in my 64 Valiant with a smaller diameter one. Grant seems to be the big player in the market. I've seen some negative comments about their products here on FABO. Could anyone advise of their experience or recommendations for a replacement? Thanks!

Grant wheel on my 67 Dart, made a adapter to fit a stock horn button on it, looks close to stock and Grant wheel color closely matches the car color. Very happy with wheel, road race it and no problems.

I put a nice Grant on my 68, used their adapter, and even got the Mopar
"M" horn button.

But I took it off after a while and went back to my original. The Grant was a nice wheel, but I didn't like the smaller diameter, it just didn't feel right to me. Cant find a pic at the moment, I'm thinking of selling it. Its a black leather wheel, with 4 polished spokes.

If your interested I'll go snap a couple pics of it.

You must have power steering.

I have a Grant wheel on mine...Never knew of anyone who had trouble with one. Big problem with some people is that if it is not stock it's junk in their mind.

Also needed smaller wheel for road racing, Grant wheel fit the bill and the color of the wheel matched the car. Made an adapter to fit the stock horn button onto the Grant wheel. Have had no problems so far.

Grant wheel in mine, off the top of my head it's 15 inches. Like the looks and feel of it with the firm feel stage 2. Not a good pic but it's all I have

Yes, power steering. The big wheel is pretty clunky with the power steering and my knees would fit better with a smaller wheel. I need to measure the stock one on the car and see how big a replacement could be.

I might be interested...what is the diameter of your Grant?

Grant makes a quality product. At least they used to. Have sold hundreds and used many on my own rides,

I need help. 1974 Duster, putting in the Grant classic steering wheel. The adapter kit has a wire, I know it goes on the new steering wheel but where does it go in the column????

I have Grant wheels on two of my cars. I have some hand trouble, and I get cramps from holding the stock wheel. I like the thickness of the Grant. Plus, the stock wheel hits my legs.
Ozark, there should be directions with the kit. If not, maybe on their website. If I remember correctly, the back of the adapter is copper coated, and the column has a spring loaded copper contact that makes the connection. Also, you should start your own thread when you have a question. You will get way more responses.

Thanks for the info! I'm going to look for a Grant. The thin stock wheel is driving me nuts.

It's so good you had to comment on it twice. Lol. :D

I didnt think I would like the slightly smaller size but its been great. And got it new for like 1/2 the price from someone who didnt use it on Ebay.

Recently, I had one of Grant's Mopar-style "wood" wheels with satin "brushed" chrome spokes. The edges of the spokes were nearly as sharp as razor blades, and I lost quite a lot of skin off my hands before I ditched the thing. The quality of their horn buttons and adapter kits has always been kind of shoddy, but that I could live with.
