Hello Folks I'm considering selling my 70 Duster drag car as a roller (no engine no trans.)The motor failed 3 weeks ago and I have an opportunity to purchase another car rather than continue with this car. This car is all race car and is beyond being streetable. Car ran very consistent 10.50s w/ a 475-500 hp 440.
70 Duster original /6 car. Built into a race car in the late 90s.
Rust free southern body. No rust anywhere and best I can tell never was.
Frame connectors, welded in.
Cage is basic 8 point legal for 10s. IE: There are no bars extending out into the front frame/engine compartment area.
Front and mid engine plate.
Ford 9" rear w/ 4:30 gears. Also have a set of 4:88s that came with the car. It was a 1/8 mile car when I got it.
Slicks are 31x10.5wx15Morroso front runners.
Plexi door windows
Lexan windshield
All other glass is oem.
Glass hood
I would describe the paint as a 2 footer. There are some minor imperfections that are only noticeable up close
Install your engine, trans and battery and go racing.

Ok figured it out. This is a very nice car for the price.

As mention in the add its a racecar. It didn't come with a title. It is as far as you can get from streetable so im not sure what the point of the title would be?

If it turns out that the car was stolen in the past and the original owner shows up at the track with the police and the title, the car goes back to the original owner and you lose the whole thing. It's happened in the past so that's a good reason to have a title. Certainly not saying that this falls in the same scenario, just an FYI.

Thanks so much I better get a title for it asap

Right off the CT DMV site:
If a vehicle is over 20 model years old, a Connecticut title will not be required to sell a vehicle. If title is not available, a Supplemental Assignment of Ownership form (Form Q-1) can be completed in full to indicate the buyer and the seller.

I will check DMV here in NC to see if that will suffice for ownership. I do know it makes it hard in this state because they run a car's Vin regardless if you plan to ever put on the street. Kinda why it would be good for federal vs individual states for stuff like this.

Car looks very streetable to be honest. I've seen tube cars with strut front and 4 link rear drive on the street just fine.

Again it's a race car, and not realy suitable for street use in its current condition. What you decide to do with it after you purchase it is your choice

There are many states where a title is required for a sale and registration, so that is a big caution to many.

also you really need to take the streetable comments as a compliment. The paint looks great on that car, and to me and apparently everyone else here, that car with an appropriate engine and trans appears to be a set of street tires away from hitting the road. My dart has a 10 point, racing seats, and an 8 inch converter, and runs 10.60's. none of which do i use to deem it "un-streetable" Not exactly a highway cruiser, but still...major selling point that you can take something down the road, opposed to buying a drag only car with no title.

I agree. Although I like glass over plastic. In Alabama a 1970 just needs a bill of sale and a VIN to register. They don't bother with titles on crs that old. Good looking hotrod on the exterior.

did anyone notice the open holes where the wipers are supposed to be? - working wipers are a big deal on the street. Also note that the firewall is "blank" - no opening for the OEM wiper motor.. I'm not saying it can't be done, but it's like wirenut said initially, it's really a race car.

If it were surley a free and clear car, AKA, not stolen, it would have been mine all ready. I've gone through that crap before. No thanks to it ever again. Title/ownership MUST be in the sellers name.

Ya know That's not really fair. MY state doesn't require a title for vehicles over 20 years old. In MY state I can get that car registered tomorrow. If I sell it I have to furnish a form required by MY state To sell the vehicle. Signing that form clearly puts some skin in the game for me. Signing my name to it means it could all come back to me if there was any previous illegal activity. To read your post you pretty much say the car IS a stolen vehicle. Where The F%$k do you get off making a statement like that . Do You have some evidence of this car being stolen? Am I missing something here? You know this car? You Know where it came from? and who built It? Enlighten please, Or stop making stupid uneducated comments on a for sale forum.

Sorry, didn't mean to suggest it is stolen. I made an educated statement. Know the laws in other states. Re read what I wrote. You took the post negitively and realize what I poorly wrote and I never meant suggest, or hint or otherwise say in any way shape or form that the car was stolen or thought it was. Though I do see how the AKA part is poor.
Again, sorry about that.

In this state, if it is not in your name, it could be stolen or lazy person that never put it in there name. Which just causes more problems for both people involved in the sale.
