Just how quick were the 273 Commando's in the Quarter-Mile.

I think 318willrun is on to something. There is a reason they dropped the 273 after people drove the 318 for a few years. Even in it's hottest solid lifter, 10.5:1 compression, and 4 bbl form it wasn't any quicker then a mild manner hydraulic cam 2 bbl 318. The problem is nobody seemed to be testing a 318 A body in 1968 even though that is what most people were buying.
Here is the best 273 road test time I have seen 15.9@85mph with a 4 speed 3:23 gears. That's pretty good.
