There is going to be an all Mopar gathering at Thompson Park in Amarillo Texas on Saturday from 1000am till 200pm with a short cruise to follow. It will be in Picnic Area 14, which is on the west side of Wonderland Amusement Park. For more information check out the Mopar Family Gathering page on Facebook. Thanks Jody

isn't CIC the same day?

CIC was cancelled by the guy who used to run the Amarillo Area Mopars. No idea what happened but he cancelled the show and shut down his website. So some locals have taken it upon themselves to put together a gathering at Thompson Park. Turn out should be good!! Lots of old and new Mopars!!

In that case, a road trip may be in order. Thanks for the info..

Hey Ben,
if you come up to Amarillo, I would love to have you come see my 71 Barracuda project and my son's 67 notchie!

Rod

We would love to have anyone that is within driving distance and a Mopar Lover to come to the Show on Saturday.

Look forward to seeing your car! :thumbrig: If you need anything on your trip or while you are here in Amarillo let us know.

For a good Bacon Cheeseburger after the show, I would suggest Coyote Bluff on Grand Street just south of I40. If you have any other Mopar buddies there in Lubbock bring them.

After promoting the show and securing the site at the state park the state decided we needed to provide "Event Insurance"! Since this was already a FREE EVENT sans park entry of course and many of us put money out of pocket just to keep it going it was just too much. We considered just showing up and saying "What car show"? We had a good run but the state had to step in and screw things up. If anyone is interested in being a sponsor and putting up insurance money it could be CIC again I suppose....

The State of California did the same thing to us for our Inland Mopars Car Club's "Mopars In May At CSDR" charity-benefit car show last year. We had already procured $1-million worth of insurance for the club, but the state wanted $2-million.
We got our policy through Haggerty at a very reasonable rate. Suggest you check 'em out.
