Maybe I missed it, but were you looking to get a 2 post, or a 4 post lift?

The 4 post will not need as much head room unless you're lifting vans or light trucks. I forget the exact height on my garage ceiling, but I know I have almost 12' to the bottom side of the steel I beams. The I beams are 12" high, so the floor joists on the second floor sit roughly 13' from the concrete floor of the garage.

That's a good point, but I already reinforced the floor where the two posts are going to go from my lift. I should have enough ceiling clearance for anything that I'm going to lift. Even though I had 8 foot tall doors, the tracks are 12 foot high and only go about 6 foot across the ceiling. Thanks for the links I will check them out
