Exactly what I was going to ask. I think if you have having factory computer issues because of what's missing or that you've gone outside it's parameters, you may want to just switch to a stand alone like a Megasquirt or something similar. I just converted my 340 to Megasquirt 3 Pro and it's been running very well, just working on some minor fixes. It was running quite good within about two hours of initial crank, and it's the first time I've ever installed an EFI setup.
