I've never been able to understand why government run postal services weren't able to remain competitive with companies such as UPS or FedEx. You'd think that their infrastructure built over all the years would have made them the ones impossible to compete against. I guess it goes to show that private companies must be being better managed when there is an incentive to succeed.
