My 1972 Dodge Dart

Looks like a lot of work but will be worth it in the end. Only took me 5 years to get mine done. But about 2 of those I wasn't able to work on it to much.
My build thread is below if your interested. Good luck I'll be following your build nice to see one get fixed back up.

You're so right Stan!
It's very nice to see these cars get "fixed back up":burnout:
Keep tearing into it bwillaub....

Just checked out your build thread and I've gotta say you have done an excellent job! I only hope mine turns out half that good. I'm working on the 5 year plan myself. Thanks for the positive comments.

Day 3 teardown. No more surprises. Rust where I expected. I'm having a blast tearing her down! Will be even more fun when I'm putting her back together!

Well, hello to you, neighbor. I have a good friend who lives in Ashland. Any ideas on how to address the trunk hinge when widening the inner fender wells?
My car has homemade tubs and I ended up making a little notch in them for the hinges to sink into. As far as the supports go, just cut off what you need to and weld them to the new tubs and re-brace where necessary.
I don't have any picks of the completed tubs.
Who do you know in Ashland? Feel free to PM.

My good friend, Jim Cunningham, lives in Ashland. You may know him or maybe know of him. He is a renowned scoundrel!

The BEAST has been removed! Now to clear out a spot in my shop for the car. All this moisture isn't helping my build.

Hey check out my project for some mini tub information! If I were in your shoes I would get a stock wheel well, cut the floor to the frame and put in a piece around 3 inches. I think that would be cheaper and its great welding experience for some confidence in ya!

Finally was able to make some room in my shop for the old girl. She can stay dry and cozy now in the coming wet and cold months. Got the windshield and rear glass out. Removed the steering column, dash, and heater box.

Welcome to FABO and good luck with your project. Sounds like it will be fun when you're done. There are quite a few here that have put big blocks in their 70's A bodies and their expertise will come in handy when you need help. Toolmanmike

I couldn't agree more, Mike. I've already benefitted from other member's knowledge and expertise.

Been a while since I posted. Just a lot of small things taking place with the car. She's sitting up on stands now. Rear end is out. Doing a lot of patching on panels. Will start mini tubs next. Still not sure how I will handle the trunk hinges. I'm sure I can come up with something. Here is a pic from the rear taken before I put her up on front stands.
