My first 440 build for my 74 Dart

400 hp is sooo easy to do with a 440! At that power level you do not need a solid lifter cam, aftermarket heads or compression above 9:1. Keep it simple (low maintenance) and reliable. A good rebuild, performer rpm or you're tunnel ram, 9-9.5:1 compression, hydraulic flat tappet cam 230-235 @ .050 with a 114 lsa, headers and factory iron heads with a good 3 angle valve job will exceed you're expectations. Cam choice can be critical depending on the rest of the combination. I'd suggest getting the cam from someone like Dwayne Porter and letting him spec it for you.
With that little rear tire I'd throw a spare set of wheels in the trunk! LOL.
