408 fender badges.

Would the 408 fender badges looks good on a 71 duster?

  • Yes, as long as you'requested running a 408 in there

I came across an eBay vendor who sells 408 fender badges
Obviously they are not original to my duster, but niether is the 408

I'm considering maybe getting a set, what do you guys think, tacky or cool?

we don't need no stink'n badges.
who you try'n to scare with the little 408 badge.

You ever drive your A-body out to a restaurant, park it outside and then get a table by the window so you can enjoy everyone looking it over as they walk by?

I just thought the badges might add to that fun

They have been out for the fords forever...which is what I associate them to. I considered them also, but they looked really...."non oe" but I dont know what ones you are looking at? Link? The red lined ones weren't for me.

I guess a second possibility would be to add the "408" to the stripe, that might look more authentic?

If I paid the big bucks for a stroker motor, I'd be tempted to buy a set. Why not let the world know what you have. I'd darn sure buy some hemi badges if I stuffed a hemi in the 69 Cuda.

I think you should put what you think is cool on your car regardless what others think.

Those actually look really good compared to some Iv'e see. If I owned a duster I would prolly get the side stripes with them in it versus these, but to each his own. I'm not really into badges at all, especially the ones that cop's wear LOL! I think it's kind of a chevy thing. I like to make people wonder what kind of car it is, and what motor it is!

Idk if I'd do a 408 badge or not. One badge that I KNOW I'd put on my car is if I put a 6.4 in my car I'd DEFINITELY put the red 392 HEMI badge from the srt challengers on my fenders!

that would be a no-brainer
too bad Ma never made a 408 badge to snatch up

I have had a set of those on my dakota for several years now. People always comment on them during the dream cruise.

I'm trying to bring a little more color into my Dart. My engine is red, so I might run these.

:Have a built 360 with it badged as a 273, should see the looks on the other faces when they look at the 273 Dart that beat them, can not wait to put a 408 in it, with it still badged as a 273.:D:D:D

I bought these for mine when my "dart" emblems started falling off. (amazing what starts rattling loose when you crack into the mid 10's)
Haven't put them on yet, not sure if i'm going to...just something different.
I agree with the above, it's about what you like...not everyone else.

^^THOSE are pretty trick!.

You could run some 6.6 Poontiac badges if brand loyalty isn't your thing.

I'd run some 6.6 magnum badges if I had that motor and somebody made them.

one of those would look pretty sexy on the back of my Signet, along with a 418 Wedge decal..

it would bug me more to have a metric call out on it, then an off brand call out

There's someone on here who sells the stripes, and you can have whatever engine size you want put in it. Looks just like the OE "340" stripes.

IMO, that would be better than putting a badge on it.

Got a friend in MI who makes these type call-out emblems. He made some of these 225 Four Barrel emblems along with other callouts (408 Stroker, 416 Stroker, 390 Stroker, 318 Four Barrel, etc) and has sold them to other members as well as at the Nationals. He did a one-off custom emblem - 225 Six Pak - for me for my Offy valve cover (Offenhauser milled off so the emblem would fit in the space).

We use them for transporting radioactive materials at work.

Took a set of Demon 340 decals to the local sign shop and had them make a 408 decal to match the 340 font and color scheme.
