1967-1968-1969 Barracuda Rear Trim?

I don't want to mix parts between the years. Just trying to learn at what colors would be correct for each year. thanks.

1967 had 3 pieces, thin top and bottom with a wider center section. Top and bottom were aluminum color with thin black stripes. Top and bottom pieces are different. Center was a darker Argent. The bottom piece is referred to as unobtainium. No separate Formuls S difference.

Your 68 should be 2 pieces. Top and bottom are approx the same width but are different. They are mostly a light argent silver. Spring Special had a red tape applique' between them, reflective at night. (Also included chrome and black grille inserts). Otherwise the middle part of the deck lid was body color. No separate Formuls S difference.

1969 is one piece only. It may look like separate pieces but it is not. Formula S was black in the middle with dark red painted sections top and bottom and a round S badge in the lower right. See attached photo. Standard non-S cars and 'cudas had light argent silver centers but still only one large aluminum piece.

All 3 years have different tail lights.
67's are of course mostly red with small pieces added that line up with the center deck trim.
68 TL's have the back-up light built into them. The red tail light lens is small and it lines up with the exposed body color on the deck lid.
69's have lights similar to 67's but they are not the same.

The deck lids are all drilled differently between the years to match the appropriate trim. In other words, a 67 or 69 deck lid will physically bolt to your car but the trim holes will not match.

67 and 69 have separate round back-up lights on the lower valance below the bumper.

If you need new re-pop TL's, I recommend B,E,& A.

After almost 50 years these parts get swapped around depending on what the owner had available at the time. A lot of times the center 67 trim gets painted black, or the 68 trim is black, incorrect but owner's choice. The most classic example is the 67 Hemi Under Glass. It has the incorrect deck trim rumored to be off a Chevy.
