That Italian guy who heads Fiat/Chrysler announced that they are going to build a large SUV on the Ram Truck Chasis, that will be called the Ramcharger. They are going after the Tahoe,Suburban, and the Explorer. They want to take some of that market away form GM,and Ford.
I say go for it. I never understood why they let it expire.
Its about time, to bring back the Ramcharger.

Long time coming, Chrysler has made some odd decisions in the past to exclude themselves from certain markets. Would love to see it!

I just hope it isn't as ugly as the latest round of jeeps...boy, did the slaughter that iconic look

If it looks like the picture that 999yards posted would be awsome! I myself would be interested.

If I'm not mistaken, ramcharger-like vehicles have been sold by Chrysler in other markets in the last fifteen years. If that's true, it further adds to the confusion.

Here is what I believe is a 98 Ramcharger, I took the pic in Mexico.

What's the deal with that Mexican one? Why do they think this wouldn't sell in the U.S.?

Out of all the times we've been down there I have only seen 3 of them. Looked like they used Durango tail lights in it. If they did all that work it would of been a no brainer to sell it in all of north America.

That one on the Allpar site is ugly as home made sin. Looks like a blowed up POS minivan. I gotta go vomit.

Unfortunately you're miss-quoting Sergio, which completely makes this post 100% mere speculation.
he reported it MAY be possible to build a large SUV on the next gen truck line, and FCA MAY Explore that possibility, along with other possibilities in the ram line... nowhere in the statement does it say they ARE going to do it, and that it will be called the RAMCHARGER...i'd like to see that press release?

fact 2, all the images linked above are photoshopped, period. (except the mexican 1998)

fact 3, The mexican ramcharger didn't come to the US due to US safety and crash standards.

fact 4, a RAM-RAMCHARGER? you really think that branding will get past marketing? or perhaps a RAM-Charger...so chrysler makes 2 chargers? for heaven sakes people...this kind of speculation kills me.

Looks just like a shorten 4-door ram pick up with a cap on it..once again styling department failure:violent1::violent1::violent1:

that looks like a Ford got together with a pathfinder and had a bastard child , with all kinds of birth defects .

I have a 2008 Chrysler Aspen. I like that it's a little smaller then a Tahoe but with more power. Most of the parts are right off the Ram but it rides so well even on washboard gravel roads. We also have been in some pretty gritty old mining roads that would have sidelined a Tahoe. I run slightly larger 265/70-17 Cooper A/T3s. I have had Ramchargers in the past and really like the Aspen. That said they quit making the big body on frame Aspen and Durango in 2009 so a new one would be good.

Recognize the rear hatch? Caravan.

With all due respect to those who own them, the Mexican Ramchargers really look like a small conversion company built them and didn't think them out quite right (just like 80% of the stuff conversion companies usually put out).

Even though it's not perfect, that April Fools Photoshop looks pretty nice with the sharp C-pillars and wrap-over windows. Good looking with heritage worked in.

Ok Im sure Im going to start a crap storm. the article says they are STUDYING the prospect of a Tahoe/suburban type vehicle when they do a redesign of the trucks ie it will look nothing like either picture if it comes to exist. after the April fools article a couple auto writers explained why it was unlikely to happen with cost of production and tighter emissions regulations I love a Ramcharger type truck but doesn't seem likely, of course Fiat did bring 700+ HP street car sooo who knows.
