For many years there were three main benefits of running a 9 inch over a dana 60: it's a dropout unit for quick gear changes, the housing can be reinforced easier, and the aftermarket has a huge assortment of high end pieces available for them.

But now there is a company called Jrat that makes a dana 60 dropout rear and fabricated housing.
