Steve McQueen vs. John Wayne

[I won't answer that in one answer. John Wayne is ( to me) the most iconic American actor,ever. Steve McQueen, probably the "coolest " in the 60's and 70's. One thing is for sure,about both: They didn't kowtow to anybody,walked their own individualized paths. That ( to me) makes them American heroes.
