unfortunately wrecked my 71 scamp due to someone who shouldn't have a license and will be purchasing a 69 dart. i want to get peoples opinions on taking the dual hood scoops i bought for a 70-71 era dart/scamp and putting them on a 69 hood. i know it would still look awesome but would a true mopar guy be turned off by that?

sorry, I am a purist and appreciate the 69 hood as produced and think the scoops take away the period correct appearance.

I say do what you want to do to your car. Do what makes you happy.
I can understand the guys that love period correct or properly restored cars. And I do appreciate a well done properly restored car. But as soon as they open there pie hole to me about what should be or there self righteous speech on how I ruined it, well, they can suck the crap out of my bung hole with hot pee to wash it down from my garden hose right behind my zipper.

my opinion is they look stupid and out of place on pre 70 darts.

but hey its not my car so if you like it go for it.

Your car, your choice. Lay them on there and see if you like the look, before making them permanent fixtures. I'm running a sixpack on my 69 Fury - because i want to. My Snelby Dakota is all original - because i chose to leave it alone. My son and i cut in a 69 recessed flip open fuel cap and grafted an E body buldge hood skin on his 65 Bcuda - because he wanted to.

Personalize YOUR ride to what YOU like. Some people will like what you do and others will not. Enjoy your car for you, not for them.

Do what you like. Its your car, let it reflect the things you like. Dare to be different!

I understand that most of us gain some energy when someone else compliments our car - but in the end, you are the one paying for it, you are the one driving it, and you are the one that gets to see it day in and day out. Set them on your hood and if you like 'em, mount 'em

I see other people's cars, some I like and agree with, others I don't, but I keep my opinion on such to myself, unless someone asks for my opinion.
I do my cars to suit me, whether I changed the gas cap to a NOT correct flip top one, or left some runs in my paint which I can easily fix.
if someone doesn't agree with my car, and wants to voice their unasked for opinion..... then they can politly kiss my rebel ***!???? ha

My thoughts would be to sell them and get the correct scoop for the car but do what makes you happy

Agreed 100%. (Especially the last part) :D

Do it your way. Whenever someone makes a non complimentary comment about mine, I usually ask to see theirs. Most times, they don't have one. Your car, your money, your way.

I am going to be running a cowl on my car again because of my setup. So I say if you like it - run it. I also do not care for the people that try and shame those who do not run the exact period part on a given car.

I've been a "True Mopar Guy" for almost 40 years and I would use the dual scoop set up in a heartbeat. It looks great on a '69. It's what I did 30 years ago on my '69 Dart GT 340...

I did it on mine a few years back, wouldn't do it again. But that's me, if you like it do it. I would get a Bulge hood, they look great.
