Engine Parts Interchange

Pretty much everything can be made to fit from one engine to another.

The LA engine family (273,318,340,360) can be divided in 2 ways by heads or cranks. 273/318 has small port heads and a slightly different drivers mount than 340/360 which have the large port heads. In 1967 when the 318 was introduced it was identical to the 67' 273 other than bore size and very little change until roller cammed 318 around 85' and Magnums later.

The other way to divide them is 273,318,340 are the same main bearing and crank stroke of 3.31". And there bore sizes 3.625",3.91" and 4.04". And 360 has a larger main bearing and a 3.58" stroke and has a 4" bore.
