If I had a horn trim for a standard 67 steering wheel could I swap this 1968-1969 horn button over to the 67 trim using the hardware and mounting for the 67 button? Was there a difference between the mounting hardware of the horn buttons between the different years that would prevent it from swapping over? I'm asking because I have an offer for a 67 trim for sale to build a new steering wheel for my Dart, but I want to install it with this button instead. I need some advice to know if it will fit or requires different mounting hardware, thank you.

This is the 67 trim I am looking at buying and also the button if this helps, I'm just not sure how the button mounts so I cant say if there is something missing.

The horn part you posted looks like the center twist on/off type to me, but I don't know about the button.
There were a few different designs, so if you can find a pic of the back of the button you want I could probably tell you.
Or at least describe what does what and goes where so you have more info.

Ok I found one but they look completely different.
The 67 has the twist on cap in the center and the 68-69 is flat and plastic like it pushes into an indent in the center of the wheel.

I bought a complete steering wheel from a 68 Valiant for my 67 Valiant a couple of years ago. The centers on both where twist on. I could put the trim ring and horn button on both wheels.
I could also mix the the horn buttons with the trim rings with no problem. IE, the 67 horn ring with the 68 center cap, the 68 horn ring with 67 center cap.
My guess is that the Darts wheels where built similar.

That sounds good "on paper" but look at the horn chrome part posted and the two centers.
WAY different.
