Who uses "Open SUSE"?

I'm "stalled" for now. My operational computer is dual boot W7 / Ubuntu Mate. For the experimental install, I'm using a second identical laptop and a spare hd, so the dual boot thing is not a factor.

The problem I cannot find a way around (I'm not an "expert" even though I use Linux a lot) --- is the repositories error in SUSE.

One reason I would like to "re enter" SUSE is that this is an old, stable system, "seems" to have less political infighting than Ubuntu, and is also widely used commercially. (Obviously, so is Fedora / Redhat)

One "glitch" I cannot figure out in Fedora is the opening network setup screen. The terminology they use is much different. I'll have to actually get a camera and take some screen shots LOL

EDIT Trying a re-install of SUSE. For some reason I started out with the new "LEAP 42" version which does not seem to be the LTS version. The terminology I ran into did not convey this clearly for some reason.

Depending on how this goes, I may try Fedora later. One problem is, I have a "whole bunch" of IDE hard drives, and very few SATA drives "spare." I've been thinking of buying yet another solid state drive for the other laptop.

SSD REALLY REALLY speeds up an older computer!!!
