Can't argue. I think you could make a base R/T acceptable, but you will be spending money and getting your hands dirty (typical build vs. buy dilemma). SRT's have plenty of luxury to them that I'm not so interested in, but that is just me. Scat Pack is the best of both worlds, IMO.

Have a friend that just bought a 15 srt. Traded in an 11 I think it was r/t. He was looking at that scat pack. He hated the ride. Got in the srt and loved it.
People forget that the srt isn't just a motor upgrade. It's a total package upgrade. Those brakes are incredible too. Big $$$$$$ to build up a r/t or scat pack to match the total srt package.

In the end it comes down to personal preference and what you will be happy with. I know if I bought a r/t or scat pack with intentions of keeping it forever I would kick myself daily for not getting the srt.
