Most people only had one vehicle back then, that is how all of them were used.
Family transportation, truck etc.
I remember grandpa pulling the back seat out of his 65 Coronet to haul 2x4's.

Back up in the NW we had a fella that has five wing cars. 4 440 six pack Superbirds and a Hemi Daytona. He drives two of them year round and when it snows he puts chains on. He's the original owner of all the cars. Several have the original bias ply tires on them

Yup! How 'bout a Daytona with a roof top luggage carrier??

or .... this is even better ... a Daytona for strapping your moose heads to after the hunt so everyone will know you were a successful hunter??

years ago Car & Driver did a writeup on an all-original Daytona that even had the scratches on the roof and spoiler from the previous owner, who was a contractor, using it to haul sheets of plywood.

I never did the luggage rack, but I used to have a trailer hitch on my 68 Cuda. I also would fold down the rear seat and trunk divider and carry lumber and other long items in it.
