Small Block V8 vs. Turbocharged Slant Six

"Low mileage" Magnums are getting more and more difficult to find. I recently called Spaldings in Spokane out of curiosity, and while they have "a lot of hemis" (for a price) they had no good Magnums

Here's a little story about a wasted 1/2 a day so then, there's that.....

But mag or la, a V8 swap has LOTS of hidden charges. Engine brackets, K frame or "swap" mounts, exhaust, radiator, the list goes on. Of course a transmission, too. My first 360/trans was cheap and sounded good but it turned out to have bearing problems, probably was never right after a "backyard overhaul." So that 360 needs a crank. Moneywise it was "OK" because I got a good working 727 out of the deal, but it cost me a LOT of extra time and work.

The point is there's a lot of hidden trap doors, and that can even happen if you buy "new" (crate, etc)
