As i was talking to the tech guy at holley about my N2o, i mention a carb i bought "used" that the plating was coming off bad, i even said the choke tower was milled off (if that mattered), he said send me pics (just need to varify its one of ours), so i did & he replaced it with a new one no questions ask, i didn't even send him the base, just the bowls/metering blocks & MB, so hats off to the guys at holley \\:D/

That is awesome!!

Hey, I think the finish is wearing off mine too.....:snakeman: :-D

That's great news!
For once a good story about a manufacturer who stands behind their product!

What a great deal for you. Made in America does mean something. Hat's Off to Holley!!!

It wasn't just the plating coming off, it was the aluminum too, came off in chunks, its was horrible, i bought the damn thing off e-bay, goes to show don't trust any used carb off e-bay. Notice all the bubbling in the aluminum, & look at the chucks that were coming off, a couple are a bit fuzzy i know.

It wasn't just the finish 8)

I have always had good luck with holley tech, lets just hope they keep the trend going.

I got a good feeling when I read this article at the beginning of the year. They have since returned as a contingency sponsor with IHRA, come out with a new line of "Ultra" carbs, got back to me with more info on those carbs, now this story. I have used Holley carbs ever since I started working on cars and am very happy to see an American performance icon return from the brink of extinction with quality products and customer service that is getting harder to find anymore.

So buy a broken carb, take pics, send to holley, get new carb! Sounds like a plan, jk.=P~

I used this carb for a good 8 months, then the flacking started, then it amplified like crazy within a month or 2, it was a real rockin carb, but enough was enough, the last kicker was when deposits started clogging up the metering, i never thought in a million years holley would do anything untill i heard a while back that they had a bad batch of carbs with the plating coming off & they were making it right for there customers.

I'm in no way trying to have people jump the gun & send in there carbs to think they will get new ones, Please lets not piss off holley, there making good on any defected products so lets not take advantage of them, i just posted this so i could give holley a  for being top notch & standing behind there stuff.

They probably already have an idea of what carbs to take back and where their problems are at, so buying a 1980 something carb off of ebay and trying this with that would likely not work in your favor.

Correct! A friend had problems with his Holley doing this, Holley has record of a metalurgical issue on certain carbs in a small handful of years, these they are still willing to replace. Good ole USA. . . or buy a Quick Fuel Technologies carb and be very happy 8)

how many calls do you think holley will recive now............ hahahah "IM SORRY ALL LINES ARE BUSY PLEASE HANG UP AND TRY AGAIN"

650dp 4777, & no its not the one i have 4 sale lol, thats a -2 & a totally different carb.

i have an 1850 carb that was bought new and it looks just like that i guess call holley and see whats up.

I love Holley. I was trying to figure out how to do the boost referenced power valve modification and the tech guy drew a picture and emailed it to me. I still have it saved.

I had the same thing happen to a rear metering block kit. I called them up and they sent me another one.

I purchased a brand new Holley Street Avenger 670 back in 2006 (I believe). It was a nightmare directly out of the box and has remained so ever since.
Eventually I just decided to purchase a Holley Street Avenger 770 and it was (and still is) flawless.
About 6 months ago I decided to see if I could open up the aforementioned troublesome 670 and find any obvious issues that would be causing its tempermental conditions. As soon as I removed the first fuel bowl, it became crystal clear this carb. could never be made right or used again. Just like in the pictures of the carburetor posted above, chunks were coming off of the main body, metering plates, and fuel bowls!
Somehow remembering this thread, I called Holley and explained the entire predicament. The tech had me give him the date code off the carburetor. He then gave me specific instructions on sending the carb. back to them for inspection. About 2 weeks later I had a brand new Holley Street Avenger 670 delivered.
It is still sitting on my shelf as I have since stepped up and bought several Holley ULTRA Street Avenger series carburetor(s).

I have seen that happen on a lawnmower carb from ethanol setting up too long.Wish they would just quit the whole ethanol thing all together!

They probably would agree to stop the ethanol if we all agreed to stop driving these cars and by a Prius. :D

I'll deal with the ethanol, and keep my E.H. B.C . specific vehicle ,Thank You ..( Excessive Hydrocarbon Belching Creation)
