Who's running a 4 speed manual in a street car?

I never ran the stock set up. The car was a 273 four barrel auto when I bought it 17 years ago and I changed it over soon after. Always ran the 3.09 trans for a better launch. The big mistake I made was the first clutch I ran, a centerforce DF clutch, very inconsistent, hit way to hard, and broke way to many parts. You need that clutch slippage to be consistent and fast and the best part is the parts breakage goes down. even the 2000# pressure plate and sinter iron disc wasn't enough slippage. That's why I run the adjustable clutch now, you keep tacking clutch out till you get the best 60ft then you add weights to the fingers to lock the centrifugal part of clutch back up in high gear.
