does anybody make them for a 68 cuda?

Yes, you make them.

1.6 ounces each. Held my bumper on for over 10 years.

Factory steel bumpers or fiberglass?

The original, steel bumper.

I just ran one bracket on each side with dummy bumper bolts in the other holes.

Factory 68 barracuda bumper brackets used a system of 4 heavy brackets (and 1 small tab at each outer end).

If you want more strength you could bend up all the brackets in aluminum and still be under 1/2 pound.

I have all the original stuff back on the car now.

68 do you have any idea how much the factory brackets weigh? It's been several yrs. since I put mine together but I remember them being pretty heavy. Just wondered how much weight is saved.

I wouldn't be surprised if all the factory brackets were 15-20 pounds.

I know this is old but is anybody making the Barracuda aluminum brackets?

My ´68 Barracuda brackets weights in at 14.55 lb. in case anyone was wondering

That's what I did to the bumper brackets on my Dart. They were 13.6# when I started and 8# when I finished.
