Did Mopar ever make a 17" or 17.5" clutch fan? If so, where would I find one?
If it helps any......I put an explorer rad and shroud into my buddies 65 sport fury ragtop it fits great, but I had to trim about 1/2" off each blade tip in order to fit in the explorer shroud. It works great, perhaps you could do the same?
Some of the newer 70's and 80's slant sixes used a smaller clutch fan. That is all I remember.
Measure the axial location first since many people wind up with a "fan too close" issue. If so, many go to a shorter Jaguar clutch/fan. Don't know the diameter, but many posts to search.
-- Yep - There's a good chance that it would be out of balance.I'd be afraid I wouldn't get it close enough and it would vibrate.
Why not just put an electric fan on it and call it a day?
I'll check around, I may have a couple extra 17" 6 bladed fans from the early A cars I've parted out!
Thanks! I really appreciate it.
