Do these exist?

Yes.
1967 273 AC in CA: 17" 7-blade thermal clutch PN 2658973
But most clutch fans were 18" or larger.

mvh is correct. I have a 1967 Barracuda, and so I bought the 1967 service manual. If you look under Cooling, then Specifications, they list fan info for all the car models: diameter, number of blades, type of drive (solid or thermal) and more. The 273 with A/C and the Clean Air Package is the only engine listed with a 17" clutch fan, at least in 1967.

Thanks guys! I only ask because I'm trying to make a 67 shroud work but I need a smaller 17" fan because the opening is smaller. Do you know if anyone repops these? I'd imagine originals are pretty tough to find.

If it helps any......I put an explorer rad and shroud into my buddies 65 sport fury ragtop it fits great, but I had to trim about 1/2" off each blade tip in order to fit in the explorer shroud. It works great, perhaps you could do the same?

I'd be afraid I wouldn't get it close enough and it would vibrate.

Classic Industries lists a Flex-a-Lite OEM style 17" fan that will fit on a clutch for $40.

I saw this flex-a-lite 5717 on Summit, but it says it has a max rated rpm of 4,000. I called and asked Flex-a-lite about it and they said they don't recommend it for my 340 because of the RPM limit. They recommend a flex fan instead. I guess my search for a 17" clutch fan is still on...

Measure the axial location first since many people wind up with a "fan too close" issue. If so, many go to a shorter Jaguar clutch/fan. Don't know the diameter, but many posts to search.

I'll be buying a shorter Jag clutch for that purpose. I only have 3.25" from water pump to radiator core. Too bad no one makes an HD clutch with a short shaft.

I used a 17" 6 bladed fan and mounted it to a clutch I had and installed it into my early A body with the 2 piece metal shroud! I also used a spacer to get the distance just where I wanted it and just milled off what was needed to get the distance correct! I'll check around, I may have a couple extra 17" 6 bladed fans from the early A cars I've parted out!

Thanks! I really appreciate it.

think I`ve got a 17" clutch fan out in the garage . have 17" mech. on my fish, due to not enough clearance. let me know if your interested, and I`ll dig it out.------bob
