Need some help with thoughts and prayers

-
Prayers sent. Yes, have the PSA and the finger thing. For what its worth, my Doc told me to drink tomato juice every day. Also did read that somewhere, supposed to reduce the chance of growth. Time will tell. Remember, things don't usually turn out as good as you hope or as bad as you fear. Lots of luck.

In her later years my grandmother told me life is like a roller coaster ride, it has it's ups and downs, we just have to hang on tight and look forward to when things will get better. May the lord be with you

We're all family here at abodies

Struggling with depression myself I offer my warmest sympathy and I hope you are able to get the help you need. For your father in law, I cannot offer any more than my sympathy and best wishes.

All the best to you and to your Father in law,
He is lucky to have someone who cares this much for him.
Side note, how's the car coming along.
Dave

Prostate cancer in this day and age is not that big of a deal. 3 of my friends have been there done that. They are good, back to work clean bill of health, Me! lost a kidney due to cancer. Still going strong. Don't stress your self out. It will be fine. Hope all is well. Oh I am 56 my friends 58/53/56
hope this helps a bit. I can be beaten and is every day

It's been 5 years and 5 months since I had a radical prostatectomy (hope I got that right.) and I've been good to go. The worst of it was the 2 weeks with a catheter. By the end of the second week every step with that thing was agony. I hope he's drinking a lot of fluids,I wish him a speedy recovery. A lot of us will go through this so make sure you get checked. I just lost a good friend to it, they found it too late. It can be managed easily now. Tell Dad there are a lot of us praying for him. Take care of yourself, you have a family to take care of. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas.

Our prayers are with you and your family. Proverbs 3:5-6; Psalms 37:5. We are praying for a blessing of healing and uplifting of spirit and strength throughour Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanks all. Dads creatine level isnt stabilizing, keeps going up. Melanie is off soon to see him. Hes having a problem with his creatine levels and his JP drain? I guess hes got a leak somewhere with his surgery. The drain needs to be emptied like every 1/2 hour.Doc is hoping it will heal its self? I guess he had 125cc in his catheter bag in 12hours. I trained as a RPN years ago but thankfully my wife is a great RN who knows this stuff. Orthopedics for 17years dosent have any relevence too this. Any of you that had there prostate out know what a JP drain is? did any of you have a leak? His creatine level keeps going up. Thats our concern. Bruce is 68 and has kicked cancer before.. Hes a tuff bird and wont go down without a fight.:coffee2:Mel is going to call me today with a report of his morning bloodwork. Will keep you posted. Thanks again everyone. Messages passed on to Melanie and Bruce(Dad)

Just saw this thread.

Glad that he's starting to get better.. Hoping it keeps up..

Bruce..FIL is now home. Everything is going so far well. He discharged himself from hospital after a bad episode. On nights the Nurse came in and asked what he wanted. He said he was in discomfort and the JP drain needed to be emptied. She decided to disconect it and attach it to his nite bag..No, no, anyway, later he rang again because his bed is now wet. She came and said it was just damp, youll be fine. he asked for some pain meds and she replied i will be back in a minute. All nite he lied in a wet bed with no pain meds and never saw her again......WTF......his roomy asked for a blanket and pain meds and he never saw her again as well.......I work there and this is absolute BULLSHIT
