I am throwing around the idea to make a mold for 63, 64 Dart tail lights. How many would be interested? My brother has all of the equipment to make the mold and can get the resin to make them.

They are hard to find in good condition and crazy priced when you do...but I'm not sure there are that many who do 63/64 Darts to make it worth your while.... but I might be wrong.I was lucky mine were both very nice driver quality.Price point would be a big factor.

I am not looking to get rich. He has the equipment and ability to help me and I thought it would be fun to give it a try. I have a set of 63 and am going to try and drum up a 64 light.

they are needed no doubt. the headlight bezels ( affordable) are much more needed for the 63-4 darts. stupid high on fleabay when they appear, for decent ones! I have found good taillight lens on feebay pretty reasonable, but I had to look every week for months. was work!! , one seller had wagon len, I think he really didn't know they were different. was no big hazzle. I just returned it.

the chrome trim is a must! yes I agree they are different.

What he said - the '64 taillights you see on the road seldom have both chrome trim rings (including 3 of the 4 on my 2)

Plus, the trim rings should be the same for the cars and the wagon (the wagon taillight is considerably different).

How much is the setup cost?

And yes - anyone know how to get some stamped?

I did finally acquire decent to good lens, but yes the chrome is elusive. a guy had two of the 64 chrome pieces other week. not both for a light but 1 ring for each light, if that makes sense. so I didn't bid.
it would be interesting just to know the process of making the lens. there is a guy on feebay that makes some various lens, but none for the darts. I did get a lens for my 65 cuda from him, after being tipped off on here from fabo member. it was pretty decent, slightly lighter plastic than the original, but was pretty inexpensive. took 2-3 weeks for it to arrive. ( mexico UPS uses burrros up to the border!)...
for many years and maybe still today, most of our repop parts for this mopar hobby are made by " cottage industry", mom and pop in their enlarged garage!!!

My 63's are in good shape but would be interested in another pair if the price was right!

I'm working with my brother to produce the mold. It will be early winter when I hope to produce my first set. That is when my work slows down and I have some free time. He is practicing on the mold for me now. Once I get a successful lens I will try and replicate the other styles. I will keep you posted. Feel free to bug me once in a while lol.

I was also thinking about the chrome trim rings. They could be made in plastic and chromed. It would essentially be the same method. It might not be "correct" but it would be better than nothing.

Now if you want to try to make them for a 64 to 65 cuda pm me.
