yep - the welts are for the front lower edge of the car inside the door - as in below the dash to the far left and right - kick panel "trim".. the metal panels look like replacements for the plastic panels... - I too have never seen such a thing.. home made? edit: upon close exam - the panels are home made - one has a nice curved back edge (goes toward the firewall), the other is angled/squared off.. my bet is the previous owner wanted something in there but couldn't locate the OEM plastic pieces.

Those are original kick panels. They came on a lot of 70 duster. It has the lace thats goes over the edge and over the lip of the door jam. They are NOT replacement or aftermarkets.

come on - are you sure?? - no holes in them for screws, appear to have never been attached to anything.. and are so imperfect.. I am skeptical to say the least.

Thank you Davescuda they are not replacement for sure these are originals replacements how could the make the grain I just have never seen these before Thanks

There is holes for the screws and you can see that in the picture just as the tab to go over the pinch welds with the texture grain and have the same grain as the a pillar trim

Well I see a member has replied to this, I have seen these myself a few years back, maybe 10 years ago on my cousins duster, and it was a 70 model know that I think about it Davescuda.

I'll be damned - my wife is right - - I need my friggin' eyes checked.. hell, I had to squint to see the grain... - - I've never seen anything but the plastic ones.. were these on low option cars or...?

I had about 10 cars with them. I had two 340 Auto bucket seat console that had them, they were both burn orange cars. The metal is stamped with the grain in it.

Thanks what kind of value do they have Steve

Mot much because people think they are aftermarket.

I sold this car and it had them and I bet he put the pastic one in it.

Got a photo of the fender tag? I'm wondering if these were early in the model year & what plant the car came from.
