So still trying to figure how coolant is getting in the oil pan..definitely isn't the head or head gasket..

checked slant six forum - subject: coolant in oil - answer: Crack in block or head cooling passages. Theoretically could occur from an oil cooler failure, if you have one of those.

Thanks Mike. All points to the block, which is odd because it's always had good antifreeze and never been abused. I'll pull the oil pan and use some florescent fluid in the cooling system to hopefully pinpoint the leak.
