588 big block mopar

Those are the questions that any engine builder will ask a customer that says they want to build a 588 inch engine. It is a weird size so any engine builder will want to know why that size? They'll also want to know what are you trying to accomplish and they'll want to know how big the budget is.

There is nothing magic about 588 cubes. Pro Stock enignes make a lot of power from 500 inches so if someone wants to go really fast just buy an old Pro Stock engine. A smarter question for the OP to ask would be "what is the easiest way to make 1000 hp" or whatever it is that they are trying to accomplish. Since the OP never said what they were really trying to accomplish it is a pointless discussion.

Thanks Andy..I understand what you're saying. .I'm just doing a bunch of research and figured I'll ask questions as we plan to start collecting parts coming 2016..

But that is a great way to do it just ask ..

So what does it take to build and make reliable 1000hp. .if you and any others don't mind sharing. .I have your book have have read a lot of it..I was thinking about a 540 low deck at first the was told 572 and 588 also was told 557 I think....

Also so I'm not trying to get a big debate about things just looking for some good info to push along the parts choices. .I've been reading up on aluminum vs steel rods trying to get a idea on maintenance as well ..don't want something eating up Springs and things every few passes. .kinda like Gray Robbins deals 540 low deck and 572 tall deck he say the low maintenance motors ..
