Just joined, looking to get my first A-body.

Problem is, I have no idea what the one I found is worth. It's a 69 Dart, rolling chassis but comes with a healthy 340 and 727 combo. Rear end is 8 1/4 with 4.11 sure grip. I'm not sure if it's an original V8 car, but it previously had a big block in it. The only rust seems to be on the bottom rear of the right quarter panel. Seats and carpet are new, looks to be in fairly good shape. Body is solid aside from the rust I mentioned. What should I expect something like this to be worth? I'm trading for it and I was hoping to get $4500 for the vehicle I'm trading. I just don't want to get ripped.

Aside from that, I'm a guy with weird taste. My current big project is a 1998 Dakota that was originally a 318/5 speed combo. Upon lots of tinkering and add ons I managed to make this into a reliable low 13 second truck until I blew the trans apart leaving work on a 3rd gear powershift. It was bound to happen! The new combo is a 419ci gen 3 Hemi with a Viper 6 speed and FAST XFI 2.0. Should be fun if I can ever get it done!

well - first, welcome to the fray - lots of good people here and equally good info! What's that Dart worth - tough to answer without at least seeing it and decoding it too. On the surface though - I could see paying 5k for it - it needs body work and paint and putting back together so you've got some unknowns - that 5k is a "crap shoot" number - too many variables..

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the input.

Welcome from over near Ann Arbor! If the car is close to me and you'd like me to look at it with you, just message and we can set up a time to view it!! Geof

Welcome to the site, just in time for Christmas!
IMO, if the trade is worth it to you, who cares about values?
Maybe sell the vehicle you would have traded and walk in with cash.
You're sure to get a better deal then, because cash always speaks the loudest........

Welcome from across the river in Canada. I'd love to see the Gen 3 viper T56 setup. I'm putting a 6.1 Hemi and Viper T56 into a Duster.

I'll get some pics the next time I'm out in the garage working on it. Not a whole lot to see right now, the FAST harness is laying all over the place and it's on jack stands lol

Welcome. Price not relevant. This hobby is like any other, you just have to understand going into it that "price" is what someone will pay. A 1969 Dart Roller could go between $1500-4500 by itself. If everything is there, I would pay for it. Finding parts is a pain sometimes! You said it comes with a 340 drivetrain. Getting harder to find those and depending on condition the value of that could be $500-6500+ (core to turn key). Just have fun....
