Post mini tub tire combos?

so whith no response on how to lower my 65 signet i take it there is no real good way to do it?

To get 4" out of the rear, you're going to either have to remove a few leafs, use lowering blocks, do both of those, or go with an air ride setup.

Nice thanks everybody lots of great info. I'm gunna start with the 295/55/15 I got but next set of tires maybe try to step up to the 325's. Thinkin about the 26-7.5 mickeys for the front

i just put these on

325x50-15 and 26x7.5-15

so i was looking at an A body on this forum and saw a few things about lowering and one gentlman used a mono leaf spring and another cut and modified the front mounting spot on the rear spring. i can modify the front mount but need that kit that he used i cant seem to find the thread that addressed this type of lowering; the mono leaf looks like a viable option as well your thoughts

Mono spring and caltracs with 9 way adjustable shock. Haven't finished with tires and rims yet.

stumbled on to these photos of my 1967 dart at work while clearing my phone off.

I have 295 50 15 on the rear
stock axle housing custom 10" steelies with dog dish caps with 7 1/4 backspace

on the front i think they are too small for my liking but they are 185 55 15
but i want to switch them to a 25 or 26 inch tall tire[ame="http://s198.photobucket.com/user/dodgedifferent3/media/2014-08-21%2008.42.30_zpsxhy5y9xb.jpg.html"]2014-08-21 08.42.30_zpsxhy5y9xb.jpg Photo by dodgedifferent3 | Photobucket[/ame]

for those of you that run 325/50-15 tires, did you alter the wheelbase? move the rear end back at all? thanks!

Rears are sports man SR2'S 29x12.5x15 and fronts are the same tire on 28x4.5x15

I wanted to be sure they cleared at the front of the tire so while doing the mini tub I moved the axle back 3/4". Turns out it wasn't an issue, now I still have room to go taller which I will be trying in the future when I can afford tires and gears. The 325/50's are 28" tall and I have about 1.25" from front of tire to that lower corner on the quarter panel, leaving room to go 29" easily

28x12.50R15 sportsman pros on 11.25" weld RTS-71 wheels.

Great thread!! I've got a mini tubbed 68 Dart. I narrowed the housing 2.5" on each side. Great to know I'll be able to get some rubber under it.:finga:

Mama Mia!!!! every car pictured here just looks fantastic! there should be no reason NOT to minitub after lookin at these cars. Jeeeesuss

Are you running a Dana 60 and Wilwood discs on the rear? If so, which Wilwood setup and which axles? Also, what's the backspacing on the rear wheels?

Yes, strange dana 60. Strange axles.

Wilwood discs. Not sure which kit. Came from strange.

Backspacing is 3.5". I had the make the Dana as narrow as you can go using relocated leaf springs.

Cool. Thanks for the info!

Torque Thrust II's

17x7 with 3.5 backspacing up front with 215/45R17 BFG G Force Comp TA

17x11 with 4.25" backspacing out back with 315/35R17 Mickey Thompson ET Street SS.

Rear is 52 7/8" wide, front is stock with SSBC disc brake conversion.

I have the adjustable hangers for the rear leafs, I might try dropping the rear a little bit to see how it looks.

325/50-15 et streets on a 12" rim. 325's are 14" wide on the 12" wheel. If you want the car low i would suggest removing the outer house on the wheel tubs if you want a wide wheel that not inward of the quarter.

Did you narrow you housing any? Doing a 70 dart and that's the look and size wheel I'm going for, thanks

Anybody have 245 14 wheel 24.5 tall inch in the back of a 70 Dart, no modifications, stock 5.5 Ralley rims

springs have sttled ,(mono leaf) tire is even with the top of the fender well now , still doesnt rub anywhere

So, no mini-tub? What's your backspacing on the rear wheels?
they are 15x8 1/2'' , w/ about 4 1/4 or 4 3/8'' backspace , the front of the fender wells have been recontoured , with the oriiginal shape , but taken to the inner fender panel . (forgot to put that in there !)
the prostars are not on it now (they were 15x8 with 4 1/2'' backspace , the rims on it now are actually perfect , and given to me by a guy on here that had them laying around in his garage for yrs. and wanted to get rid of them , all I did was pay the freight on them , "best deal I`ve ever had !" THANKS TO HIM , who ever he is/was .
