Does this happen to you all the time?

Back when the 25th anniversary 'Vetts were still pretty new, a business associate of my Dad had bought one new, and had it up for sale. I had no concept, back then, of cars as an investment, ---except maybe antiques and classics

I asked him something like "why did you buy it if you weren't going to keep it awhile?"

He says "Everything I have is for sale, except my wife, and if you offer me enough money, we'll talk about her, too!!"

When my V code 70RR was only a couple of years old, it was in it's prime, and had PLENTY of "stuff" added. It was a 440-6 4 speed, Dana, with "hang on" aftermarket A/C, nice alloy wheels, headers, Holley 800, and Edelbrock intake. I had just put a receiver hitch on it

I would not have sold it for love nor money nor both put together. Some sailer hailed me in the parking lot one day, and gave me the "how much will you take?" and I was "no way"

"Yeah but if you did, bla bla" so I finally came up with a price.

Of course "I'd never get that much, bla bla"

I mean, really? Well OK, cuz I won't sell it anyhow, certainly not to YOU
