What crank and rods do you plan on running? You only figured $900 for each. A good crank is $2,500 and rods are $1,500.

...
Cranking 2500.. that must be a billet. I don't need that ....there are a few out there that range from 800 to 1500 that is rated at 1200hp or a little more ..rods either aluminum or steel extreme duty I beam with arp 2000 bolts ..run around 900...steel should be better for my purpose just a little more heavy..aluminum would be ok just depends on the rest of the components and clearance on everything. .I've been looking around and reading but have also talk with some builders about the crank that will do what I need that's not billet. ..

A standard forged, non billet Callies crank is $2,500. I would not run a chinese Eagle, Scat, or K1 crank in a 1000hp motor. And you are right with rods, run a good quality steel I beam rod like Oliver or Manley Pro Series. But those rods are about 1,400-1,500.

The last set of Diamond custom pistons I got, with TS rings and tool steel pins was a lot higher than your estimate also.

I'll see what the builder is talking about when I sit down with him ..and let you guys know from there. .depending on cost just may end up with something else. .never know. .

I'd be running something from CP myself, but with special ring package, gas porting, and coatings that's some expensive aluminum too.

You got that right. My diamond pistons were gas ported, hard anodized coated and special ring package cost about $2,500. Not cheap to do it right but it cost more to do it twice.

None of this mess is ever cheap...lol sometimes I wish I would have stayed with my small block street car ...drive it and race it ..smh ...

Chevy power... You just have to decide if you want to go fast as you can as a goal, or run a mopar as fast as you can as a goal.

injected alky motor @ around 500 ci may a grand or more in the pull trucks , at least that is what dave story told me he's making . he claimed 808hp on stock b n crank 472 with frankenstin iron heads and one 850 cfm carb . seems maybe some one should dial him up . dave story at story porting in crestwood , ky 502 241 5612 . he is also working a blown hemi package for a funny car guy . he has done work on my packages .

wow

wow is right ! there one ford and his dodge and the rest of the class is chevys , but yet the mopar and the ford run 1st and 2nd every event . he did the flow packages for me on a couple of my motors , a 472 wedge b maxwedge for street/strip in my 63 sf and a early hemi 354 to 371 for salt flats/strip n strt 4 fun (two diff chassis, 37 d100 p/u , 27 t tubecar ) . call dave . you will not be disappointed . my cam guy spiro jennings at redline racing cams 408-313-0145 , spiro uses them on his projects . he is a great cam designer/builder , trained by the best that was in the cam world . he has built those 55mm cams for some of the factory mopar drag teams . i can say who , its a huss huss world on who's parts you use , you know . just my two cents .
