started here fri a m, hasn't let up yet. 9 inches springfield, more in other areas.... 8 drowned water related accidents, 3-4 tonite and mon a m.

could be worse. tornadoes. 80 mph blizzards, ice storms !!!

rained all last nite (Sun), slacked off for coiuple hours before the LAST bunch of heavy rain and t storms will pass, and turn to mix. the bad ice and snow will be N and W of us.

Sat there was 2 foot of flowing water down mainstrret of Monnet, city of bout 12,000 30 mi South of here. many low lying areas flooded, and as these huge lakes fill and they have to open the flood gates, it flows from one huge lake into another until it flows out of the last one, thus adding more water to those creeks and rivers. not good!

I live on the edge of the Ozark foothills, go W 10 mi and its prairie. the deal with these hills down here are "crossings", a place in the highway where there is a wet weather ditch or a small flowing creek that when it rains will flow over the road, designed that way, other than have a bridge. hundreds of them in Ozarks and Ar i'm sure.

people die when they try to cross one they should not have, and are swept away. you will say why did they drive into it???? they under estimate the flow, trying to get home and not drive 50 mi out of the way. a BAD mistake sometimes!

I live on the second highest spot in the county. no creeks to flood me, but I have water in the barn just from the amount we have gotten.

We haven't seen the Sun here in over a week. I'm starting an ARK today !!

just heard on the news death toll keeps going up. Sat nite, vehicle with 6 service guys from Ft. Wood swept away in crossing, another with 5. sad.

Several roads and highways closed in Missouri. They are telling people if you don't have to go anywhere, don't. 9-12 inches so far, and 1-3 more on the way.

Here in Northeast Arkansas I am out in the county on the ridge ( hills }, flooding is going on all around me, that full moon Christmas was the last I have seen the blue sky.
It has been bad, my drive way !! Oh my ! lets not go there.

Hear ya Mike. Most of my driveway is across the street in my neighbors yard.
Mine is washed out but stayed on my property :glasses7: that's good ! I can drag it back up mu driveway with out loosing to much gravel with out taking it out of the creek witch is the road, we have a few road closings I see this morning on the local news... We are having some bad thunder storms on us now..

A guy I know over by Dixon tried to cross a low water bridge and was swept away. He didn't make it.

Water is more powerful than many realize and often a lot deeper than it looks.
Dallas

springfield resqued 35 from driving into water too deep! problem is with all the rain pouring down, water everywhere, people can get disorinated. and the water is deeper than it looks.
flooded cars have BIG problems!!!!!

I 44 completely closed between springfield, and st louis! drowning death too is 12.

governor calls out national guard for flooding along Mississippi.

quit raining in s w mo Monday morning as it moved N E.

Hang in there guys, I remember the flood of 1985 here in WV, lives lost and devastation was tremendous.
It has been raining here for a week, but no flooding yet.
