1969 440 'cuda Notchback

E body opportunity has led to putting both of my cars up for grabs, but this is no fire sale. I spent quite some time looking for both of these cars, and you will not likely find a comp for either one in the near future. I also know this is not the BEST time to sell a car, but here we go:

1 of about 20 M Code notchbacks known to exist in BB-Dave's 440 'cuda registry. NOM engine and buildsheet. Non-numbers but correct 727 transmission. 489 Case 8 3/4 3.55 Sure Grip. Originally F5 Green with green vinyl top, console auto and green standard interior, and is a factory undercoated car. Small amount of body rust and quarters and rockers, but floors are really good. Correct sloppy driver's side motor mount. 10 in drums all around, and correct left handed studs on drivers side.

Repainted back in the 1980s when it was also cut for fenderwells by the owner that built the engine. Extensive ownership history back to 1972 when it was bought off of a repo lot in East St. Louis.

A few "day two" deviations from stock like high rise intake with Edelbrock carb, slightly lumpy cam, 26 in radiator, Accel coil and Mallory dual point distributor. From conversations with the previous owners less than 5k miles on a fresh .030 over build. Incorrect 699 oilpan that was extended for additional capacity. Heads were gone through by previous owner but they were not milled from checking mating surfaces. New Spectra tank and sending unit. Car is an excellent driver, makes great power, and can be enjoyed until you want to take it down for a season or two and do a full restoration back to the way it was built. I have put about 750-1000 trouble free miles on the engine myself.

Some correct parts included in the sale like original exhaust manifolds, 893 oilpan, master cylinder heat shield, vinyl top trim, correct intake and carb core, spare restored wheel well trim, spare trunk lid, and date matched set of correct 14x5.5 steelies. Can e-mail pics and history.

Asking $29.5k OBRO. Contact me at [email protected] or (619)997-6396. Car is in San Diego, CA. I would love to see this car go to a talented restorer who can take it back to the way it was, and don't want it to go to just anyone.

Start 2016 with the best driver/project you can get your hands on that would be a straight forward resto!
