The dates have been announced for the 2016 Mopars at the Strip event!!

March 18-20, 2016

See you there, C!
I saw the notice on the MATS Facebook page yesterday and immediately put out an emial notice to my Inland Mopars Car Club members. We'll be there as always.
So, which band did you vote for the Saturday night concert?

What are the band choices for Saturday's concert ??

Yep, see you there :D

Sounds like the Cannery is the event hotel again? Are they giving event discounts yet? So you guys there in March:coffee2: Great event!!!

Dave,

Thanks for the post hemibeep & noted.....:)

I'm guessing Mopar aka Fiat wanted a cut of the action & pressured them to change the name ?? :protest:

The poster includes a Mopar above a Chevy that is above a Ford.
I will see what shows up in 2016 and 2017 and go from there. If it loses the Mopar majority then I will stop going.

They need to evolve to stay alive. I was told separate car show parking for the different makes but won't know until I get there. Have been doing the Mopar car show parking at MATS for the past 12 years with Inland Mopars.

Guess I will have to show up & race the Slant 6 class since my 20 second Demon is in the drag racing section. I get the most time on the track for my entry fee...and also have made some money.

See you in March.

I'm done. Can't bring myself to fork out the expense of attending an open show. Might as well do Good Guys. Totally understand the reason but I see this turning into a Super Chevy show eventually

Spring Fling is the ticket. Always a class act. Hopefully they can deal with the dust.

Kind of feel the same way.....but I am only 7 miles from the track....

I know of several other mopar racers you are seriously considering staying home...

Dust in Van Nuys after El Nino (20 year rain event) I hope they dont get rained out! That place gets muddy in the middle of the swap meet. And letting the other 80% of the muscle car crowd in will turn it into a no character sausagefest.

Well, for the racers it will mean not only having the left over racers from the National event the weekend before but you'll have every Chevie and Ford owner wanting track time. Less runs

Yeah, I remember when the park flooded years ago. What a mess. They had to move the show overnight. They did a good job. Still had to deal with the drizzling rain

the national event is the 1st weekend of april...mats is march 18-20th.....

left overs?....

we have run cards....nobody get more runs then the next guy

The show has been open to all cars for the last several years. The Painters and Mopar have been in court over the loss of their dealerships and the use of the word Mopar. They will not renew the trade mark license to the Painter family. I wouldn't worry that the other makes are going to take over the event. Hell the Las Vegas AMC club(over 100) has been invited to attend for years and it's lucky that maybe 3 or 4 of them show up. I'll still go as many friends from all over the country and Canada. It is the once a year get to see you guys event.
It's the only time I get to meet up with Limedust70 and bug him to sell me his Demon.....
