"street" outlaws tonight

-
This is true but trust me my wife and daughters have better things to do then hanging out on a deserted road in the middle of the night, much more fun/comfortable coming to the track hanging out in the tent watching legally sanctioned racing..:D:D

I won't argue that point as i did very little street racing and it was in my teens.

I prefer the race track but still love the show.

i dont think it would be boring but it would be more likely to pull those who dont know what they can do with their own. what they can do and what is out there in the go fast in a strait line world. you put those promods on and its over quickly. remember this and writing it down take a picture of it. people dont want fantasy racing anymore. they want real **** they can compare to what they have seen before drive past their house once before. or what their neighbors got in the garage a few doors down.

I here what you're saying and i hope you're wrong in the Pro Mod theary. But, I'm still waiting on next season to see how the crash happens and how he goes about finding and building this Pro Mod.

Plenty of people race a car they didn't build.

I'm not concerned about Jeff Lutz's personal life, I was just saying his car was catching up after tuning for the conditions.

It's "reality" tv, which means most of it is staged/faked/not real. I get that, that's not why I watch the show. All the drama before the races can be entertaining, but the races are why I watch it.

I'd love to see streetable cars racing on the show, but the executive producers/discovery channel don't think that sells ad time, so we get crazy unstreetable cars, and now on to pro mods.

I don't think having my POS running (and losing) to someone else's car is going to make more people get cars and bring families out to tracks. People know and participate and go to events. It's not for everyone the same way it used to. The bigger track near me expanded their sportsman schedule and made the big events bigger when the new owners, people who cared about racing and not the bottom dollar, took over. Well before any tv show came along. And on any given day with an overload of channels to choose from, I d my think one show is going to influence that many people that don't ha r some sort of interest on cars or racing in the first place.

well i guess we shall see wont we. most all that i know have already switched the show off. the only ones i know that dont are the very slow car crowd in awe of it all. that will wear off as well just as top fuel etc..has fallen to nearly no viewership what so ever. consider that and you will see it as it is.

I have a slow car, but I'm not in awe of the show, or the cars or drivers. I like watching drag racing, pure and simple. Top fuel has poor viewership due to tape delayed broadcasts late in the evening. Plenty of people love top fuel. They pack the stands when they come to town here. Pits are always packed by the trailers. ESPN did a poor job and next year Fox Sports is taking over with a ton of live programming. Well see if that helps ratings. I record every drag racing show I can on my DVR, NHRA, Pro Mod, Street Outlaws, I even watch boat drags, I like the racing , bottom line.

well i have no idea what races you have watched lately. but all i see are empty stand and the camera only focuses or shows the one section that has fans in it. we must watch different programs apparently.

2nd Vegas show was sold out in 15..... 1st time that had happened in a few years. I've had the opportunity for free hospitality tickets and still don't go. It's become boring and almost predictable. I MAYBE watched two shows this year.... Indy and the finals. It was so bad that I didn't even know who was in the running for funny car. 10 years ago a few forums I visit would often have results/conversation about national events..... now they don't, but a street outlaw post will hit 2000 views in an instant. My feeling is that "live" drag racing on tv probably won't work. There was a race in Vegas a few years ago that was a festival of oil downs. Took them over an hour to do one round of top fuel IIRC..... how's that going to work?? Either way.... I won't fail to attend the Street Car Supernationals in Vegas.... real people, real cars, no diving, first to the stripe..... it's a pretty cool event that is getting larger by the year.

...and "street racers". choose your battles (and battle ground) wisely....

It gets me how they say they will run anyone but tony bynes from Augusta Georgia has sent word on a web sight called grudge racer that he would run any time any where and even come to them but they said no !! I still like the show and will continue to watch but I also know that they are not as fast as they would like you to believe

Shoot !! we have a few 4.50 cars around here that could give them a run for there money any day, two are farmers that laugh at these OKC men.. I watch it at times but I don't buy it by a long shot !

They say Murder Nova ran some 4.40's on 275's I think in Memphis back in the summer. I am sure they will be a lot faster with the new cars.

The 275 race I seen wich is on YouTube big Chief only went 4.70 and murder nova couldn't run that fast Chris tutten ran 4.16 on 275 the okc was just in the way

In March he went a 4.40@ 174 1.10 60ft. on the 8th pass ever on 275's. Go on Yellow Bullet and you can watch the video.

Yep, He never made a full clean pass. The Nova did run a .40 on 275's. There is always someone faster. They are probably the fastest true street racers collectively as a group from one area. It's funny how serious you guys are over a TV show... LMAO

Lol...@fastest and true street racers.....

Did not say they were not fast they are faster than what I have my car only runs 5.60 with a 355 ci dodge engine with no power adders . I was just saying how can u say you are the fastest when you won't run every body that challenges you Tony bynes is one of the baddest money racers around and they want no part of that he even offered to go to okc and they said no .I like the show not saying anything bad about any of them just there not the fastest

It's TV. They have been racing with their list for a long time with those cars, and yes they are street racers. The point of the show is to get other people that street race. Their are some that were on the list before the show that are not on when it started. Pretty sure Bynes did not answer the 10K call out before the show. Again it a show about street racing and thats it. Look at the SoCal guys that were on the show. All street racers, that race alot on the street.

I would guess they get Hundreds of call outs. There is no way they can race everybody.

Tony don't back down from anyone he even raced kye Kelly with a small tire car he has about 10 cars one for any kind of race and he will come to you if the moneys write

Murder Nova has run 4.40s on 275 radials at the track, he's faster with big tires. But the main thing to consider is they run almost that fast on the street. Can your farmer friends do that, or will they be flipping the car into the corn field?

Notice no Mopars

A guy I know is working on fixing that.
