What do you think?

there's too many 0's in the asking price.. seriously - IF the 340 was there.. 7500 assuming the ad is honest - and you wouldn't get that kind of $$ out of me for it...

If the car own is going to play Gas Monkey you can just as easily do the same......Go there with 5 G's.....You might get it....Ya never know till you try.

Seriously more like $750.00..just ANOTHER 'rot box"...

"(1) OF (80) LEFT IN THE U.S. according to Hemmins Motor news."

While this may be a true statement, I would be willing to bet there are hundreds of them left rotting in the woods just like this one that "Hemmins" doesn't know about. And you wouldn't catch me paying more than a couple thousand for ANY car rotting in the woods without it's engine, but that's just like my opinion, man.

Is this guy friken serious? He needs medical help! He could not even bother to pull out of the woods? HOW MUCH?

if THAT is his idea of "rust fixed correctly" I would hate to see what this kids call a hackjob

Crack smokin day dreaming A hole that watches to much TV.

That's funny!
"Numbers matching" but "new tranny" and no engine.

If you guys will hit my "gofundme" page, I'll forward this thread to the seller

I bought that car in New Hampshire a few years ago from the 2nd owner, who bought it from the original owner in 72.
But its not a rot box by any means and the original owner blew up the 340 racing it.
I sold that car with the floors done(only rot was in the toe panels)The trans is from a 70 Challenger 340.(I have the 727 that came out of it)
when I had it here with a 340 in it we would do some awesome burnouts in front of my house.
I hope he has somewhere to keep it because at that price he is gonna have it a loooooooong time.

heres some pics from when I had it for sale

As bad as the asking price is, a lot of you just proved to me that you are no more than keyboard car guys as those pics do the car no justice and show almost no rot and I know the car inside and out.
Continue on little indians

How long has this owner had the car and how long has it been sitting in the damp grass?

That car is a cream puff, check out the patina on this baby...

Seriously though, a guy in Portland OR area was selling a 1968 GTS 383 4 speed. Car had no engine or trans, fenders cut for headers(yea!) but was almost the same shape as this one, a nice restore-able car. GTS registry 1 of 80 and only 40 survivors or something like that ....took 3 months to sell, was listed at $4500. Forget exact specifics but probably would have grabbed it if not for header holes. Just an example to compare prices and yes,I know its West Coast but still a comparable car since its low numbers.

I have seen enough similar cars go for $4K-$8K but they are going up. Not a lot of guys have $15K-$20 for an unrestored Cuda or Charger so whats next, the rare A bodies. that means that A bodies are going up, some quicker than you would think. I see 67-69 Barracudas listed for $12K-$15K all the time now. Less than 10 years ago they were a $2500 car. Plymouth Satellites for $15K?!?!? Look at Darts, went from $500 to $5000 in 15 years or less. Did anybody ever think a Dart would bring $15K? Its a sign of the times.

I typically have to pay $3500-$6500 to get a nice rust free "driver" but when you dont have to do $3K of metal work its worth it to me. All the **** from the 60's and 70's is getting much more expensive because it will only exist once. If you think thats crazy, look up 67-69 camaros or novas on CL...wow! The last surge of "CAR TV" took all of those and tippled the price in a few years. The last big scrap craze removed a lot of Mopars as well. Now Graveyard Cars etc are giving everybody the "Mopar Itch" so expect **** to go up again. Sadly, when I was in high school, you could buy a 340 six pac car for $2500 or less. I need a time machine.....
