Well that would take a pretty fancy tool. Cuz after you unbolt the convertor and push it back, you will have maybe 3/8"'at most to see into a dark deep 90* hole.

So the bigger question is: do we think you 19xx crank is ready for a manual tranny? The answer to that can only be guessed at. It really depends on the year that your crank was manufactured, and maybe the engine it was destined for.

Example; if you had asked; "is my 1968, 340 crank, M/T friendly?" Answer;yes,the bushing may in fact already be in there.But as to your 1984 teener;probably not
