1969 Redford Chrysler Plymouth Detroit, MI ad

I lived in Detroit in 1969. The dealer in the first ad above was just a couple of miles from where I lived. I was an aircraft mechanic at the time and was making $5.00 per hour. Believe it or not, that was GOOD money at the time.

1970, I remember my father I n law had taught school ALL his life and was making $12000 per year. that's what $6 per hour? ha.... I had graduated college with a B S in Ag, working for farm credit, started at $7100 per year.

that $2800 for that 69 runner, looks SO cheap to younger people now, but that was not really the case so much back then. but in comparison to new vehicle prices in general today and todays income, and cost of living, as I have stated before< life was BETTER back then unless you found your *** was shooting gooks in the Delta!????
