1969 Redford Chrysler Plymouth Detroit, MI ad

I lived in Detroit in 1969. The dealer in the first ad above was just a couple of miles from where I lived. I was an aircraft mechanic at the time and was making $5.00 per hour. Believe it or not, that was GOOD money at the time.

That's over $10K per year!!! That was doing pretty darn good back in the day.. And a new RoadRunner was only about 25% of your annual pay. Today's 'hot cars' are what, $50K? That would be about $200K per year for the same standard. Did you know you were that wealthy in 1969??
