new eddy intake is junk!

You need to use a valley pan with a gasket under the valley pan and one on top. Get some good gaskets from Hughes engines.

I think he already did, except he is using 4 paper and sealing now.

it is still leaking. its not nearly as bad. drove it last night for short time. go out and look this morning...... couple trickles of oil in the valley pan.

Called summit and they are taking it back.

Good to see that they are taking this junk back, wish labor could be also :glasses7:

i hate calling a part junk but this thing isn't even close. I will be paying very very close attention with the new intake prior to install. does suck though. im out over 100 bucks in gaskets and rvt now.

I just used that same gasket and no leaks with my Holley street dominator...yet..., hopefully ittl seal up for you, I use high tac on both sides to, rtv in corners and rails

The gaskets don't even make contact on the bottom of the ports. I have a new intake on the way from summit. they warrantied it.

Had the same problem with a Performance Products (China)"Small Block" intake. The 4 front ports didn't seal on the bottom of the port.Could not dial the carb in due to vacuum leak.I did have some trouble getting the bolts to start.Should have stopped there and looked for the problem. In a hurry and had to do it twice......

Please let us know how the replacement works out.

This

I just bought a RPM as well for my new build that will be ported, and milled for the new build (0 deck 383)

I should add I am not going to run the thin valley pan, I bought the 440 source valley pan for a RPM intake so I only need to run 2 intake gaskets

Since it's temporary I'd double stack and silicone gaskets and run it til the new motor is done
I run the 440 Source valley plate, Stealth heads and a Torker II on mine. The valley plate leaked badly when I first got it running. Turned out that the bottom of the intake was contacting the plate and breaking the seal where it seals to the heads. I'm pretty sure the intake would have cleared the factory style valley pan. It was an easy fix, the bottom of the intake right under the ports required some grinding to stop the interference.

One other thing I'm wondering about on your engine. Are the port openings on the factory style gasket/valley pan large enough for the ports on the heads? I run CNC Stealths on mine and the factory style gasket was way to small at the ports. I run a 440 Source valley plate and Eddy intake gaskets. The Eddy gaskets match the ports perfectly.

Looks great! How's it run with that victor? Also what carb are you running?

It is making more power for sure! It's got a ton more top end. It screams! It just never stops pulling. It loves 6500rpm! I have a 4500 stall converter so if it lost some power down low I didn't notice

It's a proform 750

That's great! This is the rout I plan to go!, trick flows on my 383 with a victor. And my 750 mighty demon should be fine!

That look great youngun, whens it going back to the track?

Hopefully end of March or beging of april. Here in the northwest we battle with rain in the spring.

Drove it today and it pulled till it hit rev limiter in drive. It just keeps pulling!

I believe you said it was an 11.82 with the performer heads, should have picked up a few tenths

Ya I think so. I also had a lean condition on the top end. That is fixed also. I think I was pulling air from the leaking intake. I am very eager to see what it does.

I'm expecting big things from these heads
