In these two attached pics the bodywork has been completed and the first of 3 applications of high build 2k primer was applied. The blocksanding, filling, and repriming took about 6 months before I was happy with the surface finish.

Here's a couple more of the rear area. The AAR bolt on decklid fit like a glove and was dead straight. The bumpers are from Sled City Fiberglass and fit very nice. The quarter panels were a PITA to fit and finish but with a lot of patience and cursing they turned out OK.

Could even memorialize Paul and call it the Paul Cesarine Memorial Super Stock Hemi 'Cuda and Dart Forum, sorta like how the race forum on Moparts is called "Unlawfl's Race and Engine Tech".

Just a thought.
 
Still not getting what the problem is and why the lack of forward motion. Hard to imagine 'the powers that be' would harbor any negativity towards this particular idea. I mean, it's Chrysler factory racing history! They were/are the baddest Super Stock cars on the planet purposely derived from the humble A body! How is that not what all of us are here for on some level?

So if that's the case, (which it should be) why wait until this vague 'changeover' happens? What sense does that make? Wouldn't 'they' want to have stuff already in place to verify it's producing the results/traffic/discussions 'they' would like to see?

Just seems sort of lacking in the logic department. I hafta think it's easy enough to sit down in front of the server, open the software and add the new forum. Again, it was decided at some point we needed a diecast and model forum, seventeen different regional boards and a dedicated convertible forum. Why not this one?

I just have a feeling FABO was sort of a 'franchise' type experiment that just happened to grow legs and survive. Think about it - there's a whole litany of "ForXXXOnly" forums that are not half as successful as this one. It's because for whatever reason, the guys that come through here (corny as it sounds) are more fiercely dedicated to their cars than others. There are some things that make you wonder how deep the enthusiasm is with the forum owners, inaction on this deal being one of them.

I appreciate this place on the whole and I think it's a good forum for the most part but the lack of understanding about this particular thing points to a management entity that is not wholeheartedly connected to the people here and perhaps not really understanding the impact these particular cars have on our hobby.

What do I know though. :scratch:


Its Joey, he does not want it and I think the staff member is trying to help us. I have not herd anything lately. May be you guys need to send Joey a pm. Joey does not understand that this will bring more to this web site and money for him in the long run. We have a 6 cylinder forum (that is awesome) and not a BO29 Barracuda LO23 Dart Super Stock and More forum. It just does not make sense.

After thinking about it more I think the title should be=BO29 Barracuda LO23 Dart Super Stock and More forum
So you can post the history part, Clones, question, where to get parts or making parts, Builds, new SS/AH of today

Listen, it's his site, he can obviously do what he wants but its clear he has no frame of reference for these cars otherwise we wouldn't be having this conversation and the forum would be up and running.

I agree that the banner image for the site is misleading in this context. It's like he found a picture on the web of an "A body Barracuda" and stuck it up there. Maybe he liked the pretty colors.

Definitely makes me question the legitimacy of this site. I'll still come here out of habit but this whole thing leaves a sour taste in my mouth. It's just odd and defies logic.
 
Moving along to the mini-tub portion of the chassis mods. If anyone is looking for more detail I might have a picture or two of what you are looking for, although I'm not a photojournalist.

And please note that this project was performed solely in an oversized 2 car garage. And yes it was cramped at times.

Next time frames tied, torque boxes, and K member reworking.

Did you notch out the R. inner fender for the HEMI clearance or was it that way when you got it?

I notched the shock tower, recontoured and repositioned the shock mount (behind the sheet metal), and moved the upper shock mount hole 3/4" outboard. It's about a 12 hour job to do it right. I also move the steering box outboard 1" to allow for additional space.

I'm glad you are getting some value from these pics.

After locating the motor plates, final block sanding with 800 wet paper, a little fab work for the seat brackets and shifter Nov 2012) the car sat under a car cover for 2 + years.

I used a plastic engine for the mock up and I wish I had of got one of these long ago. They weight 14 lbs and it sure beats the old way.

I finally got some color on it last fall. I'm color sanding the body (2000 and 5000 wet) at the present time. The driver's side , decklid, and roof are done. It's smooooooooth.

Checklist:

* install trim and glass
*install interior
* finish K member (tubular A-arms, aluminum adjustable struts, and aluminum tie-rod adjusters
* assembly Dana 60
- install tires and wheels (Cragar SS and M/T Pro)
*install engine and trans

I'm sure I forgot a few things.........
