Guy I bought my little daily duster from had a front wheel come off 10 years ago. It's original paint and I'd like to see if I could take some of the ugly out of this mishap. Think a paintless guy could make this look any better?

With the body line it will be tough to make it look right. Pretty good wrinkle you have there, may as well ask around and see what they say. Guy in our area charges so much it's hardly worth it

You got a hard crease across two body lines.
If you take the fender off for him he can improve it some but not with his usual
picks or tool kit.
Those guys are better at working the thinner steels on modern cars.

No. The dent is too wrinkled and the panels back in the day are thicker than they are manufactured today. Frankly, I'd be surprised if you can find anyone legitimate to even try it. Beware of the parking lot gypsies who say they can "fix" it .... Money down the drain.

Didn't think so. Eventually I'll paint the whole care. Just didn't want to look at that much longer.

A buddy had a 70's Mercedes and that stuff seemed thick as heck. Seemed to do a decent job, though not as bad as this. Perhaps I'll have to throw a fender and try to match the paint the best we can.

Years ago I had a metallic blue Coronet that had a door banged up pretty bad and I found a replacement door that was exactly the same color, paint age fade and all.
Maybe you'll get lucky to:D

I bought the same "pearl white metallic" fender off a wrecker for my 92 LS400 that had a nasty corner dent. Matched perfectly, could not tell I replaced it. almost went back for the hood after a lifted company truck backed into my wife picking up the kids, but the lady's "insurance" (PLEASE dont tell my husband, get me 2 estimates and Ill cut you a check myself!) was too good to pass up. She had to buy us a grill too.

There is a guy near me that is a wizard with that kind of thing. It was $60 to fix the biggest door ding I'd ever seen on my black car. After he was done you couldn't tell even though you knew what you were looking for. DEFINITELY look into it :)

I had this dent pulled out by a local dent pro type company. the guy worked it for about an hour - $150. He said the metal was thicker than the newer cars and not easy to work with.

Go see that guy! Wow

I'm going to research who a reputable guy is and see if he will tackle it. I have no expectations!

I have been doing PDR for a living for the last twenty one years and I wouldn't waste my time and yours attempting that fender dent. The metal is WAAAAAY thicker than what we work on today. And where that metal is creased hard at the top will never lay flat.

The repair in the Dart door above is a little more manageable but still a difficult repair. Hats off to the dude who did it.

Oe you could find a good used fender and /or have a good body shop straighten yours. Many shops have paint match guns to get the match really close.

Probably won't match the thin but original paint very well but will look better than the nasty damage.

yep, they could just blend it in from below the duster emblem and get it pretty close- would still be original paint everywhere else (and even if it's not a perfect match, it would look a lot better).

Wow Reddart, that's a heckuva job. I know some of the PDR guys in Concord. Did he crack the paint. Care to share a name?

Mel's Dent Removal - Concord, Ca. Dent was there for 15 years according to the PO and the paint did not crack when popped out. It's not perfect, but works for a 20 footer.
