What Are You Doing To/With Your Car Today?

-
This week is my week to do the strategic planning for the rest of my build. Next week I will order gearvendors and paint engine. Out of town this week.

I will be putting a new radiator in my 73 Dart today. Ok. well tomorrow, cuz it's 20 deg out now. Then on Fri I'll be hitting the road for a tour down south visiting friends in Alabama, family in Florida and more friends in South Carolina. About 3,500 miles round trip. The radiator in it now isn't leaking but looks to be a well worn original, and since this car is my daily driver and road trip car (doing route 66 next fall O:) ) I like to nip ol Murphy in the bud. Battery should be good to go. Was 15 deg when I fired 'er up today, no problems :D

fab and weld floor patches in 67 Bel 1, out in the open shed! wind outta S E 20 mph, a little burr so came in to warm up! should get up to 43 today before the bottom falls out Sat!!

trying to get metal on walls BUT I keep buying parts instead !!!!! ha

Finally started with the swap for another gear in the centersection, going with 3.91 instead of the 2.76 I´ve been riding with since the resto got done.

Just a little upgrade in the works....:)

Today I finished my newly build engine cradle and put a coat of paint on it. Building it in two sections, the top section like the plans with no casters and carpet glued to the bottom. The Castors will mount on the 2 X 2 drop I had from my plywood purchase and will get carpet glued to the top. The idea is that the top with the engine cradled in can slide on my shop floor on the carpet and the transmission can sit on the bottom 1/2 on the carpet glued to the top and roll on casters for bolting to the engine. I think the elevations should be about perfect. I will post the photos on my build thread when it happens for informational purposes. I glued some foam to the top rails of the cradle and painted it because, well you know---------------------
Cheers to all-------DR:coffee2:
:burnout:

Finally settled on the main color for my 67 notch. Mixed up a small batch to see how the extra pearl (LOTS of it!) looks in the Hemi Orange, in the sunlight.

Added frame stiffeners and did basic 4 point street cage to get the chassis all tied together, big differencein how it feels driving, now to fab up a caltrac type rear to get some bite.
All this for fun ,in a hopped up teener , in a 67 notch

It was 40 degrees out, so I broke out the hose and washed it really well top and bottom. It had 3,400 miles of road trip grime on it and then we had snow last weekend and it got all salty on my way to church. After that I took it for a short spin in the country, got some groceries and then parked it safely in the garage.

Planning on installing the Gearvendors controller and wiring in my car. Going to try to put the controller in the console and run the wiring under the carpet. Going to be a tight fit and I will have to fabricate a bracket and make decisions. As soon as the GV wiring is in, the carpet will be ready to install.

Pulled the car cover and tarp off. Fired it up and dreamed of spring. Thought about taking a spin but the roads are white with salt.

Nice day in North Georgia, So why not pull the car out for some run time and then a little cruising! All these auctions on TV got the blood flowing!

finally got out in the garage and finished taking the 360 apart - dropped the short block off at a local engine shop for freshening up - got the car up on stands - dropped the exhaust - contemplated - had a beer..

Get er ' done Mike!

I went to the storage garage and started both of mine up. Had to dink with the choke and fast idle on the Swinger a bit. Drove the Swinger around the parking lot to get internals lubed. It was 45 or so today. Winter I know ain't over yet but spring is near.

Spring is just around the corner :glasses7:

I got after a leaky power steering box by replacing the two o-rings in the return housing. Seems to have done the trick.

Then...I took a nice ride in this bee-u-ti-ful North Georgia weather we're having!

Talk about leaks, I need to put the coolant pressure tester on the Swinger. When I got under the hood, coolant was puddling on the intake around the thermostat housing. I'll seal that up when I put on my LD4B in the spring.
